Skydiving Philadelphia Senior Citizen
June 26, 2004 -- Some people spend their golden years quietly enjoying the memories of youth, and the relationships developed over a lifetime. Joanne Reynolds is not one of those people. While her peers might be content with reminiscing about the past, Joanne Reynolds is busy creating new and exciting memories. The 70 year old woman made her first skydive at Skydive Pennridge, just outside Philadelphia last week. Ms. Reynolds said she had been waiting her whole life to skydive. Her family was out to watch her, but did not seem to share Joanne’s passionate desire to experience this thrilling adventure. They seemed perfectly happy to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground, and said they will wait until they are 70 to do their first jump as well.
The staff at Skydive Pennridge seemed very enthusiastic about assisting Ms. Reynolds with all the training and preparation neccessary for her first skydive, and said that her age was not a concern at all. A spokesperson stated, "As with any physical sport, the participant should be in reasonably good condition to skydive. Ms. Reynolds is in better condition than many younger students that have succesffully done a tandem skydive. We're just glad she trusted us with her first experience, and hope that she returns."
